When picking a tube of mascara ,my criteria are high maintenance but pretty simple ; I want volume , I want length , I want longevity , I want definition and I want ease ( in application ) . The Guerlain Maxi Lash So Volume has fulfilled all of those criteria , comes in gorgeous packaging and the wand has the perfect length , which allows for more precise application and correction. The only thing I’m not excited about is the scent , it’s not too bothersome but I wouldn’t mind if it came in a non-scented version. Those with sensitive eyes may find it bothersome , although I’m not entirely sure about that. So far none of my friends whom I’ve recommended this to, have complained…rather they’re raving about it ! Can you see why this has been a repurchase every time I run out ?
When it comes to lips , I don’t really have specific criteria because – for me – it all depends on the season , mood, trends ,state of my lips, etc . However , generally on a daily basis all year round , I can say with conviction that I like a lipstick that is moisturizing , not overly pigmented ( so that it can be built up and applied without needing a mirror ) , lasts a good while and has a nice satin to demi-matte finish . Clarins Rouge éclat definitely meets those demands , comes in pretty packaging ( I like pretty stuff , what can I say ) and the line has an array of colors which makes it ideal to pick a color appropriate for every season or mood . This Autumn , for example , they launched two colors ; Tawny Rose and Red Paprika . When I ran out of Coral Pink ( which is a great color for spring + summer ) , I picked up Tawny Rose which a gorgeous brown – rosey nude that would probably suit most skintones . This lipstick lasts a good 5 hours and fades to a pretty my-lips-but-better stain . Reapplication is easy thanks to the way the bullet has been shaped and the pigmentation isn’t too intense after one swipe , so a lipstick faux-pas isn’t likely to happen no matter how quickly or blindly you’re applying it .
